Temra Costa is a food systems professional with over a decade of experience in helping farms, businesses, governments, and people create sustainable solutions. An experienced project manager, Costa utilizes her skills of building stakeholder capacity, journalism, and communications and outreach to help businesses grow their sustainability initiatives.

Costa is a nationally recognized sustainable food and farming advocate. Her book, Farmer Jane: Women Changing the Way We Eat is the product of the past decade she has spent working to promote a more vibrant local food economy in California and beyond. Her previous role as statewide director of California’s Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign, and other positions held with Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF), worked to engage stakeholders in our food system, from farm to table.

Costa’s awards and recognition include Sisters on the Planet Ambassador, Oxfam America (2011), Woman of Change Award, Sacramento, CA (2009), Fellowship Recipient, Roots of Change, CA (2008).
